Navigation is one of the harder subjects to learn. There is allot to learn regarding navigation and can be quite an effort to keep on top of everything. A pilot must fly the plane whilst navigating his/her way around the skies ensuring that conduct of flight is safe, on track and efficient whilst following the relevant flight rules.
This section of Your training will concentrate on VFR flying not IFR, as IFR is mainly covered in IMC training. Although we will touch on radio navigation also. The requirement for a pilot to navigate from A to B will involve allot of thinking and some calculations. 75% of navigation starts off on the ground, we all call this Pre-Flight-planning. Allot of time and thought will go into the planning of flight many different aspects have to be considered. Such as wind, weather, height, fuel, route, controlled airspace and much more.
Navigation training will cover:
Out of all our training we offer I would suggest this is the most exciting and realistic training that we offer. I would strongly recommend before training in this sector of aviation, to purchase an Aeronautical Chart 1:500,000. These can be found on the Pooleys site or can be purchased second hand from Ebay for a fraction of the price.
